What is a Standard Schnauzer?

Standard Schnauzers have been called "The dog with the human brain". They are the original of the three sizes.

Standard schnauzers are extremely intelligent and will get away with whatever they can so they need firm but not rough guidance. If left to their own devices they will soon "rule the roost."

They are a medium size dog.
Sociable...Alert...Comedian...Reliable with children...do not bark unnecessarily... Loyal...Affectionate. These are some of the attributes of the Standard Schnauzer.
